Huge thanks to all our amazing families who braved the bitter Wisconsin cold last night to join us for our Literacy Luau! While it was freezing outside, the vibes were strictly tropical indoors as we celebrated a love for reading together.
We loved seeing our Salem community come together to support our students’ literacy journeys. You proved that it takes more than a little cold to stop a Falcon!

Due to the extreme cold weather, Salem School will be closed on Friday, January 23, 2026. There will be no work assigned for students to complete at home, and teachers will not hold office hours. When students return to school it will be a “B” Day in the elementary rotation.
Afterschool activities, including Literacy Night for tonight, 1/22, WILL occur. All after-school programs and activities at Salem are also canceled for 1/23/26.
Please stay safe & warm!
Dr. Vicki King, Superintendent

Traveling Falcon Award winner from December! Torri Poremba: Here is what Dan had to say: "Torri Poremba exemplifies incredible Falcon spirit in every way. As a dedicated paraprofessional, she is a constant reassuring and positive presence with students and staff alike. Her kindness is witnessed by anyone she meets and always with a pleasant greeting and smile throughout the building.
That is only part of the gifts Torri brings to Salem School. She is also the leader of the school PTO, organizing and managing events throughout the year. Countless hours of her time are given to the students, parents and community for the enjoyment of all. Also, the funds raised from the events have had a direct benefit for the students, teachers and staff. We are truly blessed for all you do and the effort you give for the benefit of so many people.
I am honored to pass the Traveling Falcon Award to a most deserving person. Your contributions are noticed and appreciated!"

We are incredibly proud to shine a light on Max M.., one of our outstanding NJHS members who embodies the Salem Falcon spirit! 💙
Max has dedicated 20.5 hours volunteering at Feed My Starving Children and Central, making a real difference right here in our community. Her efforts demonstrate the commitment to Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Character, and Citizenship that the National Junior Honor Society represents.
Way to soar, Max! Your dedication inspires us all.

Our 3rd graders brought a little North Pole magic to Salem School District! As part of our pre-break festivities, students worked on their fine motor skills and followed multi-step directions to create these awesome Rudolph hats.
Our Falcons are celebrating in style! 🦅❄️

Our NJHS crew sent off our Ronald McDonald House toy donations! Seeing the truck full of gifts reminds us just how amazing the Salem School District community truly is.
Way to lead with heart, Falcons! ❤️📦
