About Dr. King
Vicki has been in education for over 20  years and has served as an educational leader for the past 13 years in both Illinois and Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Nevada and her first Masters in Educational Leadership from Northern Illinois University. She earned her second Masters in Ed. Leadership with a focus on the Superintendency from Western Illinois in 2018, and completed her Doctorate in Ed. Leadership from Western Illinois in 2019.  Vicki brings a unique perspective to the table in that she has taught and led students and staff at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in communities that represent every major part of the socio-economic spectrum. She also has experience consulting district leaders and boards of education throughout the midwest on their strategic plan efforts, which quickly became a mutually beneficial learning experience.

When Vicki is not working to support all that public education has to offer students, communities, and families, she enjoys spending time with her husband. She loves to unwind by reading a good book or she can be found at a local forest preserve enjoying all that the outdoors has to offer.  She and her husband maintain active lifestyles. Their son graduated with his Masters in Computer Science in 2021, and lives in Florida with his wife. They all enjoy vacationing together in locations where scuba diving is an option.

About Mr. Guzmán
Hello! I'm Marquez Guzman and I've been with Salem School District since February 2021 serving as the district's Director of Business & Auxiliary Services. My career began in the classroom as a High School Special Education Teacher and over the years I fortuitously discovered the field of school business and took on positions with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership such as finance management intern, budget analyst, and finance manager. In my current role, I help manage many of the non-instructional functions of the district including budget and financial planning, cash and debt management, state/federal reporting, auditing, food service, and transportation monitoring. I am lucky to be part of a great school district, a strong leadership team, and a wonderful team in the Business Office that helps coordinate payroll, human resources, and purchasing for Salem School District. My undergraduate degree is from UW-Madison and I also have a master's degree from UW-Whitewater in School Business Management. Outside of work, my wife and I have a toddler who keeps us on our toes. As a family, we enjoy family get-togethers, the outdoors, and sports, especially golf.

About Mrs. Fitzgerald
I began my teaching career 20 years ago after earning a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Clarke University. I have been a classroom leader for nearly every elementary grade, and served as an instructional coach in the Kenosha Unified School District for five years. I joined Salem two years ago from my last post as Dean of Students at Lincoln Middle School in Kenosha.

I hold a master’s degree in school administration and supervision. My husband, Ryan, and I live in Salem with our two sons, Brody, a student and Air Force ROTC cadet at UW-Milwaukee, and Isaac, a student at Wilmot Union High School.

The students, families, and staff make Salem such a wonderful place to learn. I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence that Salem has earned, and building an even stronger community of learners.

About Mr. Sandberg
Welcome to a new and exciting school year! This is my eleventh year here at Salem. Before transitioning into the role of Middle School Principal, I served as an Assistant Principal and began my career here as a 5th Grade Teacher. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from UW-Whitewater, and hold a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction.

My wife and I currently reside in Mount Pleasant where in our free time we enjoy visiting family and friends, spending time at the lake, and watching Wisconsin sports.

My door is always open and it's an honor to work within a school community that is truly invested in its students.

Go Falcons!
