Hello! I'm Marquez Guzmán and I've been with Salem School District since February 2021 serving as the district's Director of Business & Auxiliary Services. My career began in the classroom as a High School Special Education Teacher and over the years I fortuitously discovered the field of school business and took on positions with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership such as finance management intern, budget analyst, and finance manager. In my current role, I help manage many of the non-instructional functions of the district including budget and financial planning, cash and debt management, state/federal reporting, auditing, food service, and transportation monitoring. I am lucky to be part of a great school district, a strong leadership team, and a wonderful team in the Business Office that helps coordinate payroll, human resources, and purchasing for Salem School District. My undergraduate degree is from UW-Madison and I also have a master's degree from UW-Whitewater in School Business Management. Outside of work, my wife and I have a toddler who keeps us on our toes. As a family, we enjoy family get-togethers, the outdoors, and sports, especially golf.
