Third graders had a blast listening to Dr. King read two books to them in the LGI this morning during their Read Across America Event! The Book with No Pictures brought many laughs and cheers, and they didn't want the book to end! What a fun morning for our 3rd grade students!

Salem has some proud Italians sharing their culture today during Read Across America Week! 🇮🇹
(Shirts made by Amanda Groves)

For today's Read Across America theme day, students brought in things that represent their culture. One of Ms. Kennedy's students brought in his favorite Mexican candy called "Paletas Payaso," which means lollipop clown. The kids had so much fun celebrating their classmates' culture and trying a treat from a different country!

Students in Mrs Velleux's room enjoyed Italian Ice to celebrate one of their classmate's Italian heritage. What a sweet way to celebrate!
