On Tuesday, April 1, our community will vote on a proposed operational referendum for the Salem School District. This would allow us to maintain programs and class size ranges, while ensuring the financial sustainability of our district over the next several years. There would be no projected levy rate increase as a result of an approved vote. 🏫Our next Conversation in the Community will take place Monday, March 17, at Salem School. Join us from 4:00 to 5:00pm to hear from district leaders and have your questions answered. 🗓️ Find more information and answers to FAQs: www.salem.k12.wi.us/page/salemreferendum2025

While we’re proud of our successes, the Salem School District is facing the challenges of rising costs, an inequitable state school funding formula, and a lack of state aid to public schools in recent years. We share these challenges with most other school districts statewide. This month, we’re focusing on Cooperation as our Character Strong theme—“working together to reach shared goals.” Whether in the classroom, at home, or in the community, teamwork helps us succeed! Families, take a moment to talk about how you cooperate at home. What shared goals do you have, and how do you work together to achieve them? Cooperation is one of three traits we’re emphasizing this year to help students Be Kind. Through activities and discussions, students will build skills in perspective-taking, conflict resolution, and teamwork. Let’s make March a month of collaboration and kindness! 💙 View the family newsletter here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nXsCFoi2kHf7AQurqLC3615zg_M-XDmc/view?usp=drive_link #SalemSchoolFalcons #CharacterStrong #Cooperation
